Re: MK3 TT exhaust
Forgive the ignorance, but what is so special about these exhausts? I've only ever heard one or two, and they just sound loud and boomy. Not tuneful or anything.
My daytona had a gorgeous burble to it, and the Janspeed I had before that had a italian-esque wail at high revs.
At the next meet I think I'll have to badger someone into taking me for a spin

That's my old TF after I took the Daytona off.

Re: MK3 TT exhaust
Hey Stiffy, that's pretty much what a TT sounds like!!! here's what my one sounds like - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvFXrKxKCJ8
What's special about them.... Well, it was the exclusivity and still is to a certain extent. Also, it is a proper 'straight thru' design, and is not chambered like most of the exhausts for the F/TF.

I've seen pictures of it and I'm sure powerflow could knock one up just the same. I had a powerflow cylindrical silencey that would have done the same job. It's now going on a Triumph Spitfire for a side-exit system!
I'm still sceptical.
Re: MK3 TT exhaust
Absolutely, equally LongLife could easily provide a straight through system. I guess it's all in a name! It was the first straight thru exhaust for the F, and Trevor only made about 15 before he died. It was that which made these things so special and talked about.
Are the MK3 exhausts that special???? Honestly, probably not (infact before Neil planned to get the 3rd batch of these made, when people asked me about exhausts if they wanted something similar I'd tell them to go to LongLife and choose the sound pitch and volume and the tail pipe finishers design and have a bespoke system), but having an exhaust that has been based on the design that was done by Trevor, is still something special, and they are extremely well made.
So, what do you get..... A true straight through exhaust, made from high grade stainless steel, with a design, pitch & volume the same as the original design done by the famous Trevor Taylor. Manufactured in limited edition.

Re: MK3 TT exhaust
I had a listen at lunch and it does sound quite nice. Still prefer the daytona though.
OK, last question, who's Trevor?

Be interesting to see what you think to driving with the hood up and windows closed tho. That is when most people complain about the MK1 & MK2 exhausts as the sound just resonates around the cabin and is a bit deafening.

I was determined to get these nuts off, half n hr and still no movement, so i thought rather than sheering them, rounding them and /or/ pretty much having a hissy fit at them, id leave to someone who'd probably be able to do it in bout half hr.
SO frustrating though, the TT is still sitting there, all shiney n new, in its box and not on the car!!!!!!!
