MG Saloon Day - 8th July 2012
Chaps & Chapesses,
I've noticed a post on Facetube by Neil Mattock that the ticket prices for MG Saloon day at the Shuttleworth Museum have been annouced. Being this is a fairly local show-anyone up for an SMS stand? I don't mind doing the organising as the event is five minutes up the road from me.
Who is interested?

Maybe, subject to availability. I guess I should use the ZT if I go though.

Dunno. Can't decide on this one. It's been pretty disappointing the last few years, but the Zed Register is more involved now so it might be an improvement. Also, the venue is more interesting... Oh, go on then!
Not necessarily... It says in the promo stuff ALL MGs and Rovers are welcome and if you're representing us on our stand you can choose!Tony wrote:Maybe, subject to availability. I guess I should use the ZT if I go though.

Re: MG Saloon Day - 8th July 2012
I see my car there
pic is from 2 years ago, I didn't bother last year(nor did most people) due to it was ZedTen last year and thought I would have a day off from MGM after going to every one year after year after year etc etc since I was half the size I am now(height not width)
As its at a different location where hopefully there will be abit more going on, and if there looks like there is going to be a big attendance this year, but mainly if I have got the Pickup complete then I shall be going, but we shall see

Haven't been since the small grass field event at Shackerstone Station
This venue looks much better and it's local too.

Oh I went to that one too, it was fun in an F! I swore it was the first and last time, TBH I'd go this year, but time, funds and brownie points are all in short supply this year. Have fun tin top guys and post up some photos

Blimin heck, is it that time already, I best sort the waste gate clip on the ZS then so I can have some whumtish fun
..and I best keep saturday free to give it a good clean as the car is still filled with sand inside and every little nook and cranny after my trip to the beach last week

Re: MG Saloon Day - 8th July 2012
I see a pilot was killed there on Sunday and the meeting closed soon after it started.
An ex RAF very experienced pilot flying the only 1923 De Haverland Hummingbird left
in existance. Originally it had 750cc motorbike engine power!
Had a lot of trouble with it over the years it seems.
Very bad luck but I guess you take a chance flying these old planes.

I heard about this last night. A tragic accident, but there are always risks with old flying machines.
I still hope to get to this event, but don't know what car I will be in now.

Looks like the weather tomorrow is going to be rain and more rain. Given the ground is already sodden, I reckon I'll given this a miss and have a lie in.

Re: MG Saloon Day - 8th July 2012
I won't be going this year. Got too much to do at home and as it's going to be a mudbath it's not really car friendly conditions, especially as there isn't going to be much there in the way of trade stands, etc. I'll save my trip to the Shuttleworth collection for a lovely stress free and sunny weekend...
Re: MG Saloon Day - 8th July 2012
Sounds like an excuse for a Sunday run. Shuttleworth and a nearby pub.
Neil Mattock has posted on facebook that the ground is wet but firm.
We won't be able to go either now though as we're expecting a visitor with an engine and a van full of tools tomorrow.
