Red brakes
Ok, so who has any hints and tips on redding up the front calipers on Mazy. Paint or spray etc

Re: Red brakes
I did it with paint, (Special brake calliper paint), and a small brush, and basically just take your time.

Re: Red brakes
Mask them up well and use smoothrite red paint spray, it works a treat and gives a great finish.

Re: Red brakes
There are various ways to paint your brakes it all depends on if you feel lazy or want it to look nice. You can use either the marketed 'brake caliper paint' or standard Hammerite 'smooth'. Hammerite is the cheapest and easiest way to go unless you want a fancy colour that is
The lazy way is to leave the brakes as they are on the car and after giving them a wash and going over with a wire brush you can then just spray or brush the caliper and the carrier assembly.
the correct way it to wash them first then take off the caliper body from the carrier, remove the brake pads, wire brush the caliper and carrier and then carefully using a brush to paint both parts around all the angles covering the entire surfaces, but do not paint the inside of the carriers or caliper where the brake pads touch.
and the professional way is the same as above but by removing the calipers and carriers from off the vehicle and hang them up if you can, along with wire brushing use some 180 grade sand paper to smooth the surfaces, carefully tape over all the seals and allow the parts to dry before refitting to the vehicle

Re: Red brakes
Thanks you all for the tips. I especially like the one about asking someone to do them
