Deeply P**sed off.......
It's rare for me to have a sense of humour failure - but have just got back from very long day in big London, to find that some ignorant little F'wit has keyed my car!!!!
We are not amused....

Right down to metal - every panel on the passenger side - Shouldn't be too tough a repair, but it's really annoying..
I think I know who did it too - I parked down a side road near the station, and when I got back there was a big group of teenagers on the other side of the road - I thought they were looking at me a bit strangely
If I'd seen the damage then, I could have run the little gits over!

It's done, and there's nothing I can do about it, so no point going into meltdown over it! I'm not impressed, but at least I've had plenty of prior practise at paintwork!
Still quite fancy heading back over there and catheterising them with my aerial...

Re: Deeply P**sed off.......
Really sorry to hear that, unfortuntely there are far to many scummers around who think this sort of thing amusing, but one day hopefully some little git will do it to their corsa once they pass their test (or not).
I've touched in a few scratches on cars before on cars and can recommend a fine artists brush, an icecube tray and a can of spray. Spray paint into ice cube tray and apply to scratch with brush (do with primer 1st if down to metal), build up the layers slowly. leave to harden and go over with mine or stuarts Farcella G10 compund at the next meet, I'll bring it ialong.
Hopefully it'll look nearly as good as new.
Look on the bright side at least they didnt slash your hood...

Re: Deeply P**sed off.......
So sorry to hear the news. Didn't have my laptop on last night so only just read it.
I know the feeling of discovering your car keyed. I had a rare Strata Grey MG Maestro that was immaculate. Some b*****d keyed both sides and the bonnet right down to metal. The quote for getting it sorted was 50% more than the car's value, but I just couldn't look at the damage without feeling so screwed up inside. I ended up selling the car and getting a Montego Turbo! (This was in the days before MGFs existed, and Maestro/Montego Turbos were the best MGs to put a huge smile on your face... Therapy...)

You've got to be a bit philosophical about these things! I'm clearly having one of those weeks, Lorry flicked up a stone and left a starfish on my windscreen on the way home tonight!
I'm tempted to go to bed til Monday!

Re: Deeply P**sed off.......
Gutted for you ,i had exactly that on my previous car .........a ZR just after i had made the final payment, except they did every panel never did understand who or why?? i just don't understand the motivation to be honest.I didn't get to repair mine as the very next week an idiot in a corsa went in the back of me and my ZR was written off!!!!
The only bright side is i ended up with an mgf which on days like today puts a smile on my face.. .hope you get yours sorted for the bank holiday!

Exactly - Those of you who saw it last week may be surprised to hear that it was considerably worse before I set about it with a dent puller and a a flexible choppping board!! Just need to get something under the struts to push out a few really crumpled bits, and I think things might be improved!!
There is soemone posting on .org about fibreglass bonnets - Good idea?

Re: Deeply P**sed off.......
erm not too sure, the lighter weigh fibre glass would give you handling issues at the fron end... Also i've never seen a fibre glass bonnet with a good finsih so always put off by them from that!!
just carry on giving it a go pulling dents out,

Would make a change - losing the front end rather than the back!! I did think it might be an issue!
Scratches are coming out very well - I obviously over reacted as it's only down to metal on the door. Most of the rear panel is polish out-able. The filler cap is wrecked - but it was peeling like a redhead in Magaluf anyway - so makes sense to buy a new one!

Re: Deeply P**sed off.......
yh read it somewhere abotu making the front end lighter!!
well good news on the scratches then, as for the filler cap i believe its possible to refurb it yourself instead of buying a new one!!

Fuel cap? Wasn't aware that they came colour coded!!
Bonnet wise - may have to - It'd just be easier to get an original charcoal one, and more likely to match than a brand spanking respray!!
