Elec seats ?
changed my seats over tonight , does anyone know what the wires are for under the seat. ive conected them up but got no idear what the elec is for.???

Its for the seatbelt pretensioner, basically there's a small explosive bit that pulls the seatbelt in if you hit anything. I hope you disconnected the battery before swapping the seat , its a bit risky otherwise, if not, I'm glad you got away with it

im still alive and got my arms and legs. blimey i didn't know, i just got my tools out and got on with it .but anyway 8 lives left

As with any electrical item on the car when being messed with the battery should be disconnected, and with anything of the SRS (airbags etc) side you need to leave the battery disconnected for a minimum of 30mins before touching anything as this should give enough time for any of the components to discharge which reduces the risk of explosion.
On a personnal note (DO NOT ATTEMPT TO COPY ME) I find myself constantly playing around with airbags and throwing them about the place whilst working on the cars, never have any problems what so ever
