Don't panic... I'm still working on it. Got the switch in bits on my desk right now. It's just that I'm not at my desk!!!!

Here's the good news...

I've sussed the connections on the MkII console front fog light switch! cheers Woo... I'm spinning!

Here's the bad news...

The Rave info doesn't include the front fog light wiring! silent pale Ooh embarrassing!

But we can probably work it out if somebody can tell me the wire colours (don't forget the trace colour) as they will be standard colours used throughout the lighting loom.

Thanks for solving the wiring of the Mk2 switch that is brilliant news!

I can have a look at the coloured wires tomorrow and post them on here!
do you want to know the colours and pin numbers of the connector? and what do you mean by trace colour?

Cheers

So sorry to hear the news. Was your mate Corp. Marc Birch? Sad news indeed and another unnecessary loss of life.

Yeah, the pins would be good. I'm not sure if the connector is marked, but if you can assume the first pin is ground, it's likely to be black. The trace colour is the second colour line on many of the wires. For instance, the illumination positive feed is red with a black tracer.

Ok I have found the colours of the wires which fit the Mk1 switch with Pin numbers marked on the connector and they are as follows

Pin No.1 = Black with Grey Trace
Pin No.2 = Solid Dark Grey
Pin No.3 = Red with Black Trace (illumination Postive feed)
Pin No.4 = Solid Dark Grey
Pin No.5 = Red with Yellow Tracer

Now all i need to know is which wires i need to swap over to be connected to the correct pins for the mk2 switch!

I cant believe I am finally getting to the bottom of swapping the switches! I am amazed at your inteligence Mr Stone!! cheers

Apologies Nick for hijacking the thread! Shocked Laughing

Now moved to this shiny new thread, so don't worry about it!!!!

Well from first glimpse, the wires are definitely different. I might have to have a Mk.I switch to play with now though... I'd pull mine out of the dash but it's all locked up and under cover so not that easy!

Oh No Shocked I knew it wasn't going to be as easy as it sounded!

I can take mine off if you like? it is hanging out anyway! I will do anything to replace it with the Mrk2 switch as it is one of those little things that drives me mad! Laughing

I'm going to have a go at figuring out the wires of the mrk1 switch this week! (wish me luck)

Rich - can you tell me what wires need to go into what pins on that Mrk2 switch i gave you? when i figure the old switch out i cvan simply snip them behind the connector and fit a small terminal connector to put them in the correct location!

Cheers for all your help on this!
