Ok getting rid of the Slicks tomorrow morning, they have been fun particulary racing the M3 BMW last sunday on the way back through winding country roads. £150 for 2 Goodyear EagleF1 GSD2 fitted...... Good price i think? opinions?

Nope... You could just about manage FOUR Toyo Proxies for that! Have a look for the other thread where this was discussed in depth...

So TWO toyos would be cheaper! At the end of the day, it's totally your choice. I'm happy sticking with my Contis, but the general consensus is that the Toyos are the best you can get for MGF/TFs...

i think my problems is that i prefer to keep all 4 tyres the same (yes im fussy) so went for the Good year! i'm likely to replace all 4 tyes next time there due anyway so am likely to switch them to either Conti Sport Contact (used them loved them), Pirelli (P-Zero Nero) or Toyo TR-1!!!

I put two new Proxies on my Trophy 1000 miles ago and the front end felt like it was on ice from then on. Perpetual feeling of understeer and wandering at high speed. The front tyres had "thousands of miles" on them and were also Proxies.

Got thoroughly fed up with the poor handling feeling (it was perfect before I put the new tyres on) and went to Clifton Lane yesterday for thorough investigation. One front tyre had a bulge the size of an egg on the inside and the other was worn to the canvas.

Anyway, to the point, I wanted Proxies but couldn't get them..........stock is apparently erratic at present.......so put Contis on and wow! What a difference Very Happy Very Happy Proxies on the rear and Contis on the front. I would enver have thought it would work but it does Very Happy Very Happy

16" 75th Anv Hairpins

fitting them saturday after i have given them a polish and changed the rotation of one of the tyres! had to travel to some scrappy in Grt Dunmow Essex and then Peterborough as one from the set was damaged! all in all only paid £165 for the set including good tyres all round!

I'll post some picks soon!

Does mean the custom painted vvc alloys are up for grabs if anyone wants them?

nice one!! good price too.

i think your the only one with that colour of car in here, so not sure your old alloys would suit another car, but who know someone might want them!!

I was pleased with the price, some guy PM'd me on the MGFregister forum yesterday said he had a used set that he used for racing for £255 but tyres are really worn and not road legal!

Yeah it is the only purple one! I'm gonna wack them on evil bay at the weekend someone will have them!
