New Boots!
As well as half a dash kit - I now have Toyos all round - the new 205/50's are finally on the back where they belong- and I picked up Max's virtually new fronts today.
Difference is quite something - he wasn't half hanging on to the road in the corners!! Got back from Northampton with no arm ache and a big grin on my face!!
Mind you - have a cracking bump on my head- was playing the bumpy road game to embarass Charlie, got a bit carried away and hit one of the roof bars on my way up!!

Re: New Boots!
Oh, must have missed that. I know it was horribly muggy today and it showered for about 10 minutes mid morning, but I don't get to see much else from my office window. Northampton weather is a mind unto itself. It never complies to the forecast...
Still, I hope your head is OK now and very pleased you're happy with the new rubber.

I am very happy with the new rubber - and the cf dash - bit worried now as I appear to be having impure thoughts about viper stripes!! Seeing far too many charcoal F's and feeling the need to be a bit unique somehow!

Re: New Boots!
Just caught that comment before shutting down my laptop for the night!
That's exactly the reason I did my stripes. At the time, there were loads of Tahiti Blue Fs in the allocated parking at Silverstone and I had to look at the number plates to tell which one was mine in the crowd...
I reckon a charcoal car would look good with a single wide metallic grey (sort of xpower grey, a tad lighter but ot silver) and a single thin stripe on each side of it. I regret having the MG logo on mine, well at least the way I had it, but it's personal taste for that one. I'll see if I can do a photoshop job for you if you like.

Re: New Boots!
Don't do it! They won't show up as well on your car. Better leaving them to the light coloured chav cars, like white corsas and citroen saxos!!!!
Don't worry... I'll have your pic done over this weekend...

Arghh - I don't know what to do now - I see what you're saying, but I really like the idea of the CF!! I like the silver too though - so all is not lost!
One of my friends is a driving instructor - and the people who did her signage gave her a big discount for having their name in a very small font at the bottom of the boot end of her stripe! She reckons I ought to tell them that I go to all the Mg events and see if I can get a deal on having them fitted!

Re: New Boots!
i'd have to agree with Rich and say no to the Carbon Fibre look, Silver would be much better suited to your colour of car!!

Re: New Boots!
Sorry I didn't have time for a perfect job, but here's a taster...
Also, I would be tempted to spray it on rather than have vinyl graphics as you can then polish it all up. Next time you see mine, have a look what polish did to by stripes...
I'm still going with an idea of not-quite-silver and the big central stripe (That'll kill the viper jibes) and a tasteful single thin stripe up each side. Very classy look I feel...

Re: New Boots!
Perhaps it would be better like this...

PS Could I just add that the wiggly line up the driver's side of the stripe is actually a refection from the original pic and not my shaky hand...

It's because Wriggly is buffed up to such a mirror like shine!!
Rich - I hate to break it to you - but I am NOT having an SMS sign in the middle of my stripe!! Everyone will think I'm Stewarts little sister!!

Re: New Boots!
It's not really to scale. The front is right but it does go a bit wide at the top. Very difficult to get it so it look right when the car is photographed at that angle. If I could have a 'full frontal' view (!) of the bonnet, including the front bumper and windscreen, then I could do it far more accurately, and also in various shades...

Re: New Boots!
That was actually meant as a joke... Even I don't put on my bonnet! Resticted to the doors for show and promotional purposes only.
Rich
That's why you don't want vinyl on it. My big mistake, although it looked great when it was first done. The vinyl itself was very shiny. Mind you, it does cover up loads of stone chips, scratches, etc!dressur wrote:It's because Wriggly is buffed up to such a mirror like shine!!
