Hello Again
Hello Everyone
Having flirted with Porsche and Jaguar I have gone back to my first love and obtained a 160 MGTF with a funny blue/grey/black coat! Paint code i think is LQW Pics to follow eventually.
The TF was owned by an older chap who died unexpectedly and his family put the car up for sale. It has done 51K. The steering pulled to the left and the alternator failed this morning in the cold!
It was in the garage therefore for a new alternator and replacement steering column. However, the mechanic had a machine/computer which allowed calibration of the EPAS torque sensor without needing to replace either the ECU or the column itself! Never heard of such a thing but that's modern technology for you.
It's good to back in the fold and I was glad to see my registraion here hadn't been cancelled.
Golf permitting I will catch up with you old friends and new members as soon as I can.
All the best
David

Re: Hello Again
Fantastic to see you back Dave. So it was the alternator, hopefully a not too expensive fix (rather an MG altrnator than a porsche orr a Jag one!).
Anthracite LQW paint is very 2014, its the finest colour available I believe (since I bought my Anthracite Trophy)
Look forward to catching up soon.

Re: Hello Again
Welcome back Dave.
Shame you went for the non-original suspensioned 160, but nice colour.

Re: Hello Again
Welcome back to the fold Dave!
So you decided not to go looking for a red Trophy then... I would have sold you mine but I doubt you'd have wanted to pay what I'd ask for it...
Send some pics of the new car over and I'll sort you out with a new avatar. Has it got a name yet?

Hello Again
Thanks for the welcome boys.
I went for the "normal" suspension because of the trouble i had with the Trophy where I had leaky top cones and couldn't get them replaced! Stuck with the 160 though. Brilliant engine.
It has been a life long ambition to have a red MG but this is now my 11th including the ZTT and none have been red !!!
I'm not sure this is Anthracite? I'll need to clean the plate and check the code again or let you see it in daylight. Pics below
it's a bit bland on the inside - some chrome needed i think
Cheers

Re: Hello Again
Looks good. Hope to see it, and you of course, at a meet soon. I'll dig out a nice new SMS sticker for it...
Perhaps some coloured seatbelts? That's the craze these days!
