Having had a few mornings of finding empty mousetraps I decided I could brave setting the car alarm again (i.e. locking the car Laughing ) and so far have had a couple of nights without the alarm going off, so fingers crossed!

I stripped the T Bar and cubby hole off so I could get to more of the tunnel and also stripped back carpets and took the boot lining out, gave everything a good hoover and clean and sprayed Jeyes fluid everywhere.

There was lots of chewed up stuff near lots of wiring but fortunately looks like no wiring itself has been chewed!

Dan, you were right about the heater pipes! Once I could see everything clearly, I realised it was the gear lever cables covering which had been attacked, the heater pipes are exactly as per your photos!

Not really sure why the cables are covered in insulation material.

Just the coolant loss to sort out now!
