Well I could possibly do you a deal on an extremely reliable VVC engine and ancilliaries...

Re: what to do on the head
There's an Emerald on eBay at the moment that may be worth a look
Could you not get a VVC head, blank of the VVC and go all out with bigger valves and the better cams etc that you've got already?

Sure do - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300573327244&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
I was watching it to see if it goes cheaper than I got mine for

Re: what to do on the head
remember I mention about a mems3 conversion package thrusday night Col, well the one I put together for a Rover 25 now doesn't require it so I have all the parts required so if you do decide to go this route just let me know

Re: what to do on the head
If Colin decides he doesn't want it then my dad may well be interested after spending yesterday at Santa Pod, he's hooked and wants more power

How much do you think one would cost? My dad is interested

Re: what to do on the head
Well you will need to tell me what you are starting with and what you want to convert.
for example I have a package ready to go for a Rover 25 1.4 to convert a mems 2J VVC engine and plug and play which consists of...
25 GTi engine wiring loom
25 GTi ECU with matched 5AS and fob
160 inlet manifold(smooth black top)
mems3 camshaft cover
VVC coil packs and leads
brand new temperature sensors for coolant and HCU(oil)
this lot is £190
if you let me know then I could sort out all parts required as I should have them all what ever it is

Re: what to do on the head
I will have all parts required if its an F too and I can convert the wiring loom body plugs to suit before hand if required to plug and play
Matt Parker- Registered user
Re: what to do on the head
Sorry, yep it's an F
Plug and play would be very much appreciated after the fun I've had today getting my wiring loom out Not even started to modify the other one for the Emerald yet
How much do you think for all of that?

Re: what to do on the head
Mmmm still something I'm considering, (depending on price obviously) would the fact I have aircon make a difference as I know its a slightly different loom?
So how many bhp is the Z&F remap worth then?

Re: what to do on the head
Having aircon wont affect it as it will just rquire the extra wires in the loom for the compressor and then the link in from the body plug direct to the ECU from the aircon control relay pack.
ZandF tune up will vary to what you have on the vehicle, engine condition and what you want in the way of the tune up but an average of 7-10% increase is about what your expect to get.
Conversion kit with a modified loom for plug and play would be about £260

Re: what to do on the head
Ooh at that price it could be do-able so long as someone wants to buy a normal Milltek I happen to have knocking around....best hope eBay gets a good price for it
Nick- Admin/Moderator
Re: what to do on the head
You have a spare Milltek? I assume you're not referring to the one currently fitted to your car, as that is fine with MEMS3. My dad could be interested at the right price!

Re: what to do on the head
Hmmm, so what exactly is a "normal" Milltek? Do you just mean the tailpipes are in the normal outside position rather than in the centre like the one on Banshee?
I suppose it is an F fitting not a TF?
Still half and half about changing the TT although not sure that the Milltek would be any quieter in the cabin than the TT.

Re: what to do on the head
Hi Steve,Yup its a MK1 F fitting and it's the same type as Rays.
Rich I need to check it over, I was going to see if anyone wanted it here first for £100, if not I was going to bung it on ebay for £150.
I need to check the flange but will let you know once I'm happy it's 100%, you can have first refusal.
I'll start a proper for sale thread later in the week
Right back on topic, so if I can get an extra 7-10% with a Z&F remap I'd be looking at 175ish BHP...schweet

well yes I have ....sort of I was just thinking that if this was a 'relatively simple' plug and play swap (ie something I could do with some spanenrs), for 'reasonable' money thats a good performance upgrade isnt it? put it this way its on the long term plan I think, as I still need to fit my polybush kit first.
