British Car Enthusiasts' Rally - 7th September 2008
As this event clashes with the MGF Register Welsh event, our stand will be purely Southmids Sportsters so I would like to have some help with this one. After all, it's a 'local' event for us...
The event will once again be taking place at Wicksteed Park, Kettering, and raising funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Entry will be £6 per car, regardless of the number of passengers, payable on the gate. There will be trade stands, a raffle, Pride of Ownership (where Debs and Stewart will defend their positions), an auction and various club/marque displays.
This was very well attended by our members last year and hopefully we can do better this year!
Volunteers:
- Rich & Kate
Dave D- Lee (and hopefully Debs!)
- Nick
Maxine- Stuart
- Marcus
- Seb
- Paul

What is it with you lot? There are two lists, Volunteers and Attendees... I need to know who's available for helping out so can you please specify which list I can put you in?

Well, I guess I should be there to defend my title, especially after fitting more screens and a sweety dispenser....!!!! But, I had planned to go the the welsh weekender..... Decision time......

Welsh weekender? Are there no sheep on your farm? I thought defending your title was one of the driving forces behind the mods!

I'll be there Rich, all things being equal and will help out if I can but it depends on what we need doing. If it means coming early and setting up and tidying up then yes but I don't want any martialling or auctioneering or judging jobs thank you!
Cheers

Dave, it's not our event so there won't be anything like that. All we need to do is look after our own stand/display, ie set it up, keep it manned for the day between us, then put it all away and go home... So I'll put you on the list for assisting then! Cheers matey...

Here's an idea... How about doing the Snowdon Run? We did it last year and despite the fact that it was chucking it down for the whole run, the scenery was spectacular and we did get some dry time the day before. We stayed at a lovely B&B in Llandudno. The only thing that was questionable was the dodgy music coming through our walkie talkie from a certain Kiwi driven MGF following us...

Ok, I'm very sorry but I have made my decision, and have just booked on for the Welsh Weekender. So, that means I won't be coming to Brit Cars. I just hope that next year there isn't another clash on the events calendar!
Lee, shall I remove the sweety machine from my car and give it to you to put in Deb's?!!!!

Stuart, the cost is the same for everyone as it's the venue that charges, not Brit-Cars.
Of course your friends are welcome to come along, but it'll only be members in our display!
Will you be just visiting or are you volunteering for duties?
Rich.

Right then, we need to have a look at the situation here...
It appears that a few of our members have decided to go the the Welsh Weekender and abandoned this event! Therefore, I'm making a plea to those who aren't heading west to come and support this event. We had a big stand last year and we need to make it at least as big this year too. I'm hoping Stewart will leave us the MGF Register flag and possibly a gazebo and hopefully we'll have our reworked banner back in our hands to show off too.
Please add your names now as this likely to be one of the last, if not the last, official appearances of the Southmids Sportsters at an event this season...

Yep, you'll have the SMS purple gazebo! It is a shame that both these things are on the same day. Was a fantastic day last year, and I just hope that things don't clash again next year. BTW anyone entering the PoO, be sure to fit your DVD player/Sony Playstation/sweetie machine!!!!

No problem Seb, although many of our lot are heading for Wales, so you'll only meet a chosen few! But your name is now on the list. I'll give you convoy (!) meeting details in plenty of time...
